Picture 1 – Tan Mariviv, after a run in Hong Kong Standard Chartered Marathon 2018, Women Junior 10km category.

When she was secondary two, Tan Mariviv ran and came in first in Wings Cross Country Championships 2014. Over time, in a time trial she did a 1km in 3min 09sec. Subsequently, she did 5min 07sec for 1500m for our own time trial.

She made Flexifitness proud by becoming the first person to be ranked first in the women Junior section in 10km for Singapore Standard Chartered 2017, with a time of 44min 38sec. The last 9km of the 10km was packed with runners from half – marathon, who ran earlier, and merged with the 10km runners.

Very recently, in Hong Kong Standard Chartered, she did 41min 30sec in 10km and she came in 2nd overall for Women’s Junior, if the internationals are counted.

As this is the first time she is running in the 2XU Half-Marathon, she has been given a target time of 1hr 40min to complete the race, for Women’s Open. Asked to give an opinion on Mariviv, Coach Rameshon said,” She is capable of doing a 1hr 45min, but doing a 1hr 40min will be a big bonus for us, we do not want her to pressure herself.”
